Paya
Overview
Paya was acquired by Nuvei Corporation in February 2023 and has built itself around its solid integrations with front-end CRM and back-end accounting systems, to make sure they can serve their customers well. ChargeOver supports connecting to Payato process your credit card and ACH payments.
How to Connect
Steps to connect Paya and ChargeOver together are below!
In Paya
In order to connect to Paya, you will need the following.
- Public Key (M_ID)
- Secret Key (M_Key)
- Originator ID (Only needed if you are planning on accepting ACH payments through Paya)
Once you have obtained these credentials, login to your ChargeOver account.
In ChargeOver
- Go to your Settings and select
Payment Processing - Select
Add or Configure a Payment Method or Merchant Account
Select Paya from the list of payment gateways
Input the required credentials
- Once you're done entering the credentials, make sure to select which payment methods you would like to process through your gateway
- Click
Save when finished
You can now accept credit card and ACH payments through Paya in ChargeOver!

Common Decline Messages
If you are unsure what a Paya decline message means or what to do next, the most common error messages you might encounter are explained below.
Error Message | What Paya is Trying to Tell You | Next Steps |
---|---|---|
ERR_DECLINE | Paya told ChargeOver the payment was declined. | You or the customer should contact Paya to discuss the reason for the decline. |
ERR_CREDENTIALS | Paya told ChargeOver that your authentication credentials for Forte are incorrect. | You should contact Paya and fix the credentials you use to connect to them. |
ERR_EXPIRED | Paya told ChargeOver the credit card has expired. | You should contact the customer and ask them to provide a new payment method. |
ERR_CVV | Paya told ChargeOver the credit card was declined due to an incorrect CVV/CVC security code. | Your customer should provide a correct CVV/CVC security code, or provide a new payment method. |
