American Express Direct
Overview
American Express (AmEx), allows you to accept American Express as a payment method in ChargeOver.
American Express will only process American Express as a payment method. If you are planning on accepting ACH, or another credit card processor, you may need to look at a second payment gateway.
How to Connect
Steps to connect AmEx and ChargeOver together are below!
In AmEx
You need to obtain these credentials from your AmEx Merchant account before getting started.
- Merchant ID
- Merchant Category Code
- This will correspond with the type of business or industry you're dealing in
- Company details such as:
- Company Name
- Phone
- Billing Address
Once you've collected that information, you can go into ChargeOver to connect the American Express gateway to your ChargeOver account.
In ChargeOver
- Go to your Settings and click
Payment Processing - Next, click
Add or Configure a Payment Method or Merchant Account - Select "American Express Direct" from the list of payment gateways
- Enter in the information you collected from your American Express Merchant account
Save
You're all set up! You'll now be able to process payments made with American Express credit cards directly through the American Express gateway.
